Belle Delphine 'not apologising' after being accused of fetishising rape (2024)

Content warning: Mentions of rape and sexual assault.

YouTube star Belle Delphine has defended her actions after being accused of ‘fetishising rape’ by sharing shocking photos online without a disclaimer or warning.

The 21-year-old, who boasts a following of more than a million, shared a string of photos on Twitter, which depict her being tied up in the back of a van and a man having sex with her against a tree.

She captioned the photos: ‘My perfect first date <3’.

Some followers have slammed her for not including a disclaimer or content warning on her post.

Others have accused her of ‘fetishising rape and sexual assault’ with the post, while some have said her outfit, a blue dress, knee-high socks and boots, makes it look as if she has dressed up as a child for the photos.

Belle defended her post and denied dressing as a child, telling Metro.co.uk in a statement: ‘There is nothing wrong with enjoying powerplay and BDSM where both people are consensual.

‘I think saying because I enjoy consensual non-consent is promoting rape, is the same as the argument that violence in video games promotes violence,I made it very clear in the caption of my photo, and anything written about it that I was enjoying it and that is was consensual, I never said the word rape, or anything against my will.

‘This is what other people have put onto it. I enjoy the idea of being tied up and used (with my consent, obviously). Another thing that people have said, is that I’m trying to dress like a child, which to me is insane. I felt like dressing vintage that day and even styled my hair in a beehive that was very common for women of that time.

‘All the clothes I wear are made for adults, so the only thing that people can comment on maybe is the fact that I’m wearing a dress? It’s very confusing for me. No one likes rape, no one wants rape to exist.’

Belle went on to refer to studies into power play fantasies, claiming that a large proportion of women have them.

‘I consented to being tied up and to having rough sex,’ she continued.

‘I am not apologising for anything, what I did wasn’t wrong, and much more normal than people think. Look at one of the most common sexual outfits and fantasies, schoolgirl. If you wear that are you promoting paedophilia now?

‘The front page of porn websites include fantasy scenario’s of every different kind you can think of. Incest, step-mom, teacher etc. Just because someone likes the fantasy of something, doesn’t mean they want it in real life [sic].

‘Sex is complex and explorative, but should always be consensual. I post a lot of sexual stuff to my twitter, because it’s for my Onlyfans, people who are sensitive to kinks and sexual content shouldn’t be following me, I’ve made it very clear that I’m posting hard-core porn.’

Following her post, one Twitter user said: ‘Belle Delphine is trending because she did a photo shoot in which she a dressed up like a child getting raped and kidnapped!! it’s on her pinned so please do not go through her account!!’

Another said: ‘Belle delphine dressing as a child pretending to get kidnapped & r//ped and ppl simp over her … u need a psychological evaluation.’

One more said: ‘Yeah belle delphine is not trending again for some jokes or some bath water. she is trending again for fetishizing rape. please be careful when looking through the tag and don’t go to her page and look at her pin tweet.’

Belle recently had her YouTube channel reinstated after it was mistakenly terminated.

She wrote on Twitter: ‘MY YOUTUBE IS BACK AAAAAAAH f*cccc im so happy i could cry :,) THANKYOU @TeamYouTube for listening to me !! Thankyou to everybody else who hugely helped as well.’

Team YouTube’s account responded, confirming the cause of the channel disappearing.

‘Glad you saw your account has been reinstated,’ the team wrote. ‘The termination was a mistake by the review team – we’re so sorry for the frustration this caused. We’ve sent you an email with more info.’

Belle previously questioned YouTube, claiming her channel had been terminated for ‘sexual content’, and referenced Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s song WAP.
